Your First Visit
What to Expect During Your First Visit at Holley Dental Group
We’re excited to welcome you to Holley Dental Group. Whether you’re scheduling your first cleaning, exploring treatment options, or bringing your child in for their first visit, our goal is to make your appointment comfortable, efficient, and stress-free. Below is everything you need to know before arriving for your initial visit.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
To help us make your first appointment smooth and productive, please remember to bring:
Your dental insurance card
A list of current medications
Any required premedication (antibiotics), if prescribed by your doctor
If you're unsure whether you need antibiotics prior to dental treatment, please contact your physician before your appointment. We also recommend arriving a few minutes early if you still need to complete your new patient paperwork.
What to Expect During Your First Visit
Your first appointment begins with a comprehensive oral evaluation. Our team will review your health history, examine your teeth and gums, and take any necessary digital X-rays to get a complete picture of your oral health. From there, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan designed to help you achieve and maintain a healthy, confident smile.
Whether you’re here for a routine cleaning, a filling, or are interested in cosmetic options like whitening, we encourage you to ask questions at any time. Your comfort, understanding, and confidence are important to us—and we’re here to guide you through every step of your care.
Great dental health contributes to overall well-being, and our team is committed to providing the high-quality care that helps you look and feel your best.
Your Child’s First Visit (Ages 10+)
Holley Dental Group welcomes children ages 10 and older, and we strive to make every visit positive and comfortable. At this age, children are building habits that carry into adulthood, and early experiences with dental care can set the stage for lifelong oral health.
During your child’s first visit, our team will:
Review their medical and dental history
Help them get comfortable in the office and understand what to expect
Perform a thorough exam of their teeth, gums, and bite
Take digital X-rays only if needed
Provide a professional cleaning and fluoride treatment if appropriate
Discuss oral hygiene habits and answer questions about their dental development
We encourage parents to accompany their child during the visit. This allows you to see how we interact with your child and gives us the opportunity to review any findings or recommendations directly with you.
Preparing Your Child for Their Visit
A positive mindset can make a big difference. Before their appointment, you can:
Explain that the dentist helps keep their smile healthy
Reassure them that most visits are simple and comfortable
Encourage them to ask questions or share any concerns
Our team is patient, friendly, and experienced in helping older children feel at ease—so they can confidently build great dental habits as they grow.
