Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. Julie Sheffield-Scott began her academic career studying Polymer and Fiber Engineering at Auburn University before discovering her true calling in dentistry. After shadowing her dentist—and inspired by the story of her own oral surgeon—she realized she wanted a profession that blended science, hands-on skill, and meaningful patient care.
Dr. Sheffield-Scott earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the UAB School of Dentistry in 2018, followed by an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at East Carolina University in 2019. She enjoys building relationships with patients, educating them about their oral health, and providing personalized care to individuals and families alike.
Outside the office, Dr. Sheffield-Scott loves reading, spending time with her husband, Nick, and their son, Samuel, and staying active with their dogs.
